CORPORATE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Double Impact Displays Sustainability Plan
At Double Impact Displays we are committed to making a positive difference to our planet. We are pro-active in our quest for continual improvement to our sustainable practises to reduce our environmental footprint.
We work in a not-so-green industry, so it is our responsibility to consider our environmental impact as part of our daily practises. At DID we have implemented the following strategies in the workplace which demonstrate our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
We ensure that we use environmentally friendly Inks in all our printing machinery.
Recycling of ink cartridges
The cartridges from our office printers are collected by Planet Ark as part of the “Cartridges 4 Planet Ark” campaign.
We work with Roland to recycle our large format printer cartridges to ensure they do not end up in landfill.
General green practises
We are part of the ‘Return and Earn’ government initiative where all drink containers are recycled, and funds earned are donated to local charities.
Nespresso have provided recycling bins for coffee pods – they collect these bins every 3 months and recycle the pods, so they don’t end up in landfill.
LED lights have been fitted in some departments and will be rolled out for the entire office and warehouse reducing our electricity footprint.
All paper and cardboard is recycled and we only use 100% recycled paper in our office printers.
School of St Jude provides education to disadvantaged bright young children in poverty stricken Tanzania. DID has donated to this wonderful organisation for 15 years and for the past 5 years we have had the sole sponsorship of the lovely Anna.
This sponsorship provides Anna with all her educational materials, uniforms, boarding accommodation and schooling each year. We get regular letters from Anna and updates from her educators who report that she is doing very well at school. We will continue to support Anna until she has completed her high school education … it’s a joy to see her smiling face and know that we have helped improve her quality of live and future.
Double Impact Displays has been raising funds for this very important organisation for the past 10 years. Greg our Director has taken part in the annual Outback Car Trek for the past 8 years raising money for the RFDS through corporate sponsorship. If we are not car racing we are selling cakes at the Bunnings Cake Stalls or selling raffle tickets. 100% donations go to the RFDS. A great cause!
