 Drive new-brand awareness in retailers

The Solution

A bright new take on fixtures, built to last

Oppo mobile can boast being the fourth-largest exporter of smartphones worldwide (vendor shipments out of China).

However in Australia Oppo Mobile are still relatively unknown to Australian Consumers.

This display objective was to give overnight presence to Oppo in JB Hi-Fi stores, within 2 months of its transition out of the failed retailer Dick Smith. The display needed to represent Oppo’s range of mobile phones as a distinct, high value and premium to the alternative market leaders (holding significant market / retailer share)

We designed a temporary display with appropriate weight which could be cost effectively shipped, installed by one person and deployed as fast as possible, to support a range which had already launched. Key elements of the display were easily replaceable to allow a low cost refresh and extending the ultimate return on investment of displays.

In a super tight turn around, we designed and installed 70+ stores;

  • Super thin lightbox with impact in relatively poorly lit aisles.
  • Replaceable Hero lightbox ‘film’
  • Low cost re-skin and improved ROI  (Reps or Staff could easily install new film)
  • Magnetic panel skin behind demo stock

The successful 4 week roll out help bolster an successful launch into this new retailer.

An Award Winning Display!

This display was entered in the 2016 POPAI (Point of purchase Advertising International) awards in September 2016.

The display won Bronze in the ‘Consumer Electronics – Temporary Display’ Category.

Key features that made this an award winning display are summarised in our award entry below –

“The objective was to give overnight presence to Oppo in JB Hi-Fi stores, within 2 months of its transition out of the failed retailer Dick Smith.

The display needed to represent Oppo’s range of mobile phones as a distinct, high value and premium to the alternative market leaders, holding significant market and retailer share.

With the challenge of applying to this new style retail fixture, designers looked toward a low profile LED lightbox that would not only invite non-brand loyalists, but reflect the phones premium finish, ultra-bright screens and thin profiles.

We designed a temporary display with appropriate weight which could be cost effectively shipped, installed by one person and deployed as fast as possible, to support a range which had already launched. Key elements of the display were easily replaceable to allow a low cost refresh and extending the ultimate return on investment of displays.
